Which Bimmer Cars use WAY navigation maps?

WAY maps are factory-installed on EntryNav2 head units only.EntryNav2 is the Business Navigation system fitted to  base-trim BMW F-series, G-series, and MINI F-series models from approximately 2022 onward. How to confirm your vehicle has WAY navigation: Go to NAV → Options → Settings → Navigation system version. If the result shows WAY followed by a region and year — for example “Road Map WAY Europe 2022-1” — your BMW Car has EntryNav2 and this product applies. If the result shows Road Map followed by a region and year without WAY — for example “Road Map North America Evo 2025-2” — your vehicle has an EVO navigation system. NBT EVO map updates are a separate product. If you cannot access this menu or the result is unclear, provide your 17-character VIN at checkout and we identify your exact head unit before processing anything.

EntryNav2 (WAY navigation) was fitted to the following chassis as the base navigation option. VIN confirmation is required — build date determines whether a vehicle has EntryNav2 or a higher-grade system.

Note: Not every vehicle on this list was factory-fitted with EntryNav2 — higher trim levels received EVO navigation instead. VIN confirmation before order is mandatory.

Copy the map file to a FAT32-formatted USB drive no larger than 64GB. 4. Insert the USB into your vehicle’s iDrive USB port. 5. Follow the map update prompt under NAV → Options → Settings → Navigation system version.

A Lifetime FSC code is generated against your 17-character VIN and permanently stored for your vehicle. Every future WAY map release for your region can be installed using the same code — you pay only for the updated map file, not a new activation code each time.

Can I update my WAY maps myself without a dealer?

Yes. WAY map updates install via your vehicle’s standard iDrive USB port using the built-in map update function. No dealer visit, no coding tool, and no ConnectedDrive subscription is required for a standard same-region update. Full step-by-step instructions are included with every order.

What is an FSC code and why is it specific to my VIN?

An FSC (Feature Software Code) is a cryptographic activation key generated by BMW’s licensing system against your 17-character VIN. It authorizes the map installation on your specific EntryNav2 head unit. An FSC code generated for one VIN cannot be used on a different vehicle. Once  generated, FSC codes are non-refundable — which is why we verify your VIN before generating anything.

Can EntryNav2 WAY units also get Apple CarPlay activated?

Yes. EntryNav2 (WAY navigation) head units support Apple CarPlay activation via cable coding using an ENET cable. The firmware version must be 07-20 or above, and a Wi-Fi antenna port must be present on the back of the head unit. CarPlay activation is a separate product from the map update.
